Kart telemetry you can actually read.

Slicks is a kart telemetry app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It opens the XRK files your AiM logger records and shows the sectors, the corners and the numbers your tuner asks about, in the first ninety seconds after a session.

For iPhone, iPad and Mac. Coming to the App Store.

A real kart lap at Adria Kart, drawn from its own GPS trace and coloured by speed, exactly as Slicks draws every track in your library. The kart runs at the pace the file recorded. Drag to turn it; hover or tap the line to read a point.

Ninety seconds, one thumb.

Between heats there is no time to study a chart. Slicks opens on the numbers that decide what to change next, worked out from the file on the device itself, with no signal needed. These are that lap’s, and the sector clocks run as the lap is driven.

Sectors
Every lap split into sectors against the session’s best in each, and the theoretical best they add up to.
Where the time went
The corners that cost the most against your fastest lap, ranked, with the seconds, the speed and the metres behind each.
Engine
Peak RPM, exhaust and water temperatures against the window your tuner gave you, spelled out in words as well as colour.

Two laps, one line.

Pick a reference lap and another, and Slicks lays their speed traces over each other, draws the time gained or lost along the way, and walks a cursor round the map as you scrub.

These two are laps 8 and 4 of one session at Adria Kart, +0.037 s apart at the line. The trace shows where that went, and where it came back.

Lap 4 against lap 8 at the cursor

+0.000 s

Time lost reads positive. The blue line on the map is lap 8, the dashed orange one lap 4, each on the line it really took.

The track, as you drove it.

Every session draws its laps over the real track on a map. Colour the line by speed, by a reading the GPS works out on its own, or by any channel the logger recorded, and turn the dial to read one lap at a time. This one is a car’s lap of the Red Bull Ring, from the same kind of file.

A lap of the Red Bull Ring coloured by speed or by the lateral load its GPS trace implies; both are read from the trace alone. Left alone, it alternates.

Any track you race.

Slicks reads the track from the lap itself, so it works wherever there is asphalt. The catalog behind it holds 5,583 circuits by name, layout and length; these are a few you may have driven, each drawn from the catalog’s own centreline. Pick one.

Each circuit is drawn on as a plotter would draw it, from the catalog’s centreline, to its real proportions and orientation. Left alone it moves to the next.

One library, every device.

Import on the Mac, read on the phone in the paddock, compare on the iPad at home. Sessions sync through your account, and everything above the lap list works with no signal at all. Share a session by link when you want a coach to see it, and revoke the link when you do not; the file itself never leaves your account.

  1. 1

    Import on the Mac

Drop the file the logger gave you. The session is parsed there and then, and it is in your library.

  2. 2

    Read it on the iPhone

In the paddock the summary is already there, sectors and peaks first, before the kart is off the trolley.

  3. 3

    Compare on the iPad

At home, the same session and the same laps, ready to lay over each other. Nothing to copy or send.

Bring your own files.

Slicks reads the XRK and XRZ files AiM loggers write, parsed on the device with no AiM software in between. Drop them on the Mac app, open them from Files on iPad and iPhone, or AirDrop them straight from the laptop that pulled them off the logger.

Each session lands with its track, driver and date read from the file, and asks what changed on the kart before the numbers get a chance to bias you.

Questions

Which files does Slicks read?
The XRK and XRZ files AiM loggers record, MyChron included. Slicks parses them on the device itself; it needs no AiM software and no internet connection to open one.
How does a file get from the logger into Slicks?
Any way a file reaches your device: AirDrop, the Files app, a shared folder, or dragging it onto the Mac app. Getting the file off the logger in the first place still happens with AiM’s own tools.
Does it replace RaceStudio?
For reading a session, yes: laps, sectors, time lost by corner, engine peaks, track maps and two-lap comparison. Configuring the logger itself stays with AiM’s software.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, iPad and Mac, as one app. Sessions sync between your devices, and everything you see above the lap list works offline.
Who can see my data?
You. Sessions are private to your account unless you share one by link, and a link can be revoked at any time. The original file is never reachable through a link.

Try it before it ships.

Slicks is in TestFlight ahead of its App Store release. Ask for an invite and bring a session file: your laps draw themselves the same way, on the tracks you race.

Requires iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 26.
